DKE Toys: Very Important Update – Please Read

Dear Retailers, Vendors, Creative People, Countrymen (and everyone else…)

After careful consideration we have decided that DKE will cease consignment based distribution services by end of 1st quarter 2016. While our business model is sound and most likely sustainable long term with a few tweaks, it’s those changes that if made will end up pulling us farther away from what drew us to the designer toy industry over 10 years ago. DKE has always been a profitable company and we are NOT going out of business. We will still be involved in the scene, doing conventions, curating art shows, writing books, producing toys, consulting, buying collections and liquidations and most likely selling items that belong to us from time to time.

We have decided to make this announcement well in advance so as not to disrupt the plans of our vendors through the holiday season and partly in hopes that we can find another trustworthy host for the over 200 vendors we represent. After over 22 years in the toy business we are looking forward to less of a daily grind and having more fun.
